What is your full name, business name, and what services do you offer?
My name is Abby Fenzel, and I am the owner of Copper Blossom Events. We specialize in wedding and event planning, offering full-service planning, partial planning, and month-of coordination. We also provide customized planning for microweddings (up to 25 guests) and elopements, ensuring that couples receive the support they need no matter the size of their celebration. Additionally, we assist with pre-wedding events, including engagement parties, bridal showers, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and rehearsal dinners.
How long have you been in the wedding industry?
I’ve been in the industry for over 10 years. My journey started when I was 18, working for San Diego Style Weddingsmagazine. I spent eight years with the publication, learning every aspect of the wedding industry before launching Copper Blossom Events.
What inspired you to start your own wedding planning business?
In 2021, a friend asked me to be their wedding coordinator—and they insisted on paying me! I was determined to give them my absolute best, and I quickly realized how much I loved working with vendors to ensure a seamless wedding day. After spending 14 hours on-site for my friend’s wedding, I drove home feeling more energized than ever. The very next day, I began writing my business plan, and I haven’t looked back since!
What sets Copper Blossom Events apart from others in the industry?
My goal is to blend in seamlessly with my couples’ families and friends, becoming their biggest cheerleader and advocate. I truly love forming personal connections with my clients, and more often than not, we end up becoming friends after their big day. My passion for wedding planning extends beyond logistics—I want my couples to feel completely supported and stress-free so they can fully enjoy their wedding experience.
Can you walk us through the process of hiring Copper Blossom Events?
I always start with a consultation call where we get to know each other. I want to hear about your vision, unique details, and any must-haves for your wedding day. I’ll also go over our planning packages and set expectations for how we will work together to ensure a smooth planning process. Once we decide on the best package for you, I send over a contract and invoice for the deposit. After that, we’re officially in business, and the planning begins!
How does Copper Blossom Events help couples create their perfect wedding day?
I always introduce myself at the rehearsal as “your cruise director for the next 36 hours!” From the moment rehearsal starts to the time the last guest leaves the reception, Copper Blossom Events is there to manage every detail. We handle decor setup, timeline management, and vendor coordination, ensuring that the couple can focus on celebrating and making memories. Whether it’s passing tissues, fixing veils, or making sure the couple’s favorite drink is ready after the ceremony, we’ve got it all covered.

What is your favorite part about working in the wedding industry?
The wedding industry is filled with some of the most passionate and talented professionals I’ve ever met. It’s an honor to work alongside vendors who truly care about their clients and take pride in making wedding dreams come true. Plus, every wedding is unique, and I love being part of one of the most special days in a couple’s life.
How do you keep up with the latest wedding trends?
I stay engaged with industry publications, attend networking events, and collaborate with vendors who are constantly innovating. I also prioritize continuous education by attending workshops, seminars, and online courses to keep up with emerging trends in decor, fashion, and wedding technology. By staying adaptable, I ensure that my couples have access to the latest and greatest ideas for their weddings.
Can you share some valuable tips for couples planning their wedding?
Hire vendors you connect with. You’ll be spending a lot of time with your wedding team, so make sure you enjoy their presence and trust their expertise.
Plan a monthly date night that isn’t about the wedding. If you’re getting married on October 20th, go on a date every month on the 20th—without discussing wedding plans. It’s a great way to stay connected as a couple amidst the stress of planning.
Be present on your wedding day. The day will go by in a blur, so take moments to step back and soak it all in. Enjoy every little detail and celebrate with your loved ones!
